This is the executable only in case you do not have Visual Studio 2005 or want to mess with a compiler.

Original Source Code from Johannes Brodwall... his blog and credit here:  http://www.brodwall.com/johannes/blog/?p=84

This project has taken his source in a Visual Studio 2005 project and also added a -cycle option.

This program will control the LED lights on a Dell XPS M170 and M1710 from a command line utility.

Testing was done with a Dell XPS M170 but should also work with the newer M1710 as of this writting.

Yeah, too bad it doesnt work with the XPS 700-720 Towers. I don't feel like messing with the source code and getting it working with my machine.

congratulations! nice work. i tried the app on a xps720 desktop. it works basically, but has glitches. i tested with 50 cycles and found the following: -side: will turn back&frontlow OFF, fronttop=static on -front: will turn back&fronttop OFF, frontlow=static on -top: will turn frontlow&fronttop OFF, back pluses 50 times -all: all 3 groups pluse 50 times correctly does this help you to pinpoint the difference? can you fix things for xps720? and finally: in the making, did yousee ANY chance that the LED's could be adressed with RGB values os something more precise than the 16 basecolors? i posted this similar to johannes' blog, hoping one of you will notice... intentional crossposting... sorry... ;)
