Dad, Howard Quibell (right in photo), at Gibson Guitar in where he was
working on one of the Les Paul Custom's of the day back in 1955 at the
Gibson Guitar plant in Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA.
In this photo: Les Paul (left), Ted McCarty and Howard Quibell. Man in back, unknown.
Photographer: Unknown, will give credit when known.
This photo is on display at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Cleveland, Ohio, USA
Old
memory: Dad often talked about how he smiled at the photographer for
this picture and then the man in the back of the photo yelled at him
for "ruining" the photo. The reason for Dad's smiling was someone out
of sight told a good joke out loud. When I got to meet Les Paul and we
talked about this picture, Les recalled just about everything but did
not know that my Dad got in trouble for smiling.
